Yes, you may need a permit. Please contact the Town Hall before starting any home improvement project to determine if a permit is required. Starting work without the proper permit could result in double permit fees. Fee schedules and applications are available at the Clerk’s office. General Engineering is the Town’s permit-issuing agent and inspection service. If you have questions or would like to meet with the inspector, contact the Fountain Prairie Clerk’s office to make arrangements.
Tax payments may be made in person at the Town Hall during office hours, by using the drop box near the main entrance, or by mailing your payment. Please ensure your check is for the correct amount, as refund checks cannot be issued immediately. Credit cards, debit cards, and eChecks are accepted through the Official Payments Service.
If you are using the drop box or mailing your payment and would like a receipt, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Homeowners who did not receive a lottery credit on their tax bill should contact the Town office to check eligibility, as this credit reduces the amount of the first installment. The Town Treasurer collects tax payments only until January 31; second installments must be paid directly to the Columbia County Treasurer.
Additional tax information can be found at http://www.co.columbia.wi.us/ColumbiaCounty.
